LEXICA

Cookie policy

LAST UPDATED · 8 MAY 2026

Lexica uses a small number of cookies and pieces of browser storage to make the service work. This page lists each one, what it's for, and how long it lasts. The free game at the root of the site is covered by the main cookie policy.

How we categorise them

Under UK PECR and the ICO's guidance, we split cookies into two groups:

  • Strictly necessary — needed to deliver something you've actively asked for (signing in, joining a tournament, paying). These don't require consent.
  • Optional — anything else, like analytics. We only set these after you've consented via the cookie banner.

Strictly necessary

Optional (consent required)

NamePurposeTypeDuration
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics — anonymous usage stats so we know what to improve.Third-party cookies (Google)Up to 2 years
Vercel AnalyticsPage-view counts and basic performance metrics, no personal identifiers.First-partyPer visit

We don't set any of the optional ones until you accept them on the banner. If you accept, you can change your mind any time on the main cookie page.

How to control cookies

  • Use the cookie banner on first visit, or revisit the cookie page to change your mind.
  • Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, payments, and roster recognition.

Updates

If we add or change cookies in a way that affects you, we'll update this page and, if appropriate, re-prompt for consent.
